A specialist software solutions provider has taken on a trio of ‘exciting young business people’ to help develop its range of specialised products as it continues to plan for further growth

Burton-based Visdata Ltd has recruited apprentice Tom Elton, and graduates Vimbai Mandere and Manisha Dey, a move which it believes is an investment it needs to make for the long-term sustainability of the business.

Tom, who joins the manufacturing support team, was recruited through the 3As apprenticeship scheme and is working towards his Level 4 apprenticeship. Vimbai and Manisha both join the company’s Visma support team and were recruited via Coventry University’s graduate scheme.

Matt Benfield, managing director at Visdata, said of the appointments: “Because we design completely bespoke products and solutions for our clients, we need specialist engineers who really know the software we use inside out. But we also need people who are creative and who can bring fresh ideas and new ways of working, and we think that by taking on those who are eager to learn and develop, we will get this.

“In our business, we need to be innovative and we need people on board who really understand what we do and what makes us different. That’s why apprentices and graduates are such a good solution – we get the very best new talent, people who are ready to enter the world of work and get as much from their experiences as they can, and we get to train them in our way of working from day one.”

Visdata specialises in the design and installation of specialist business software applications for the manufacturing, distribution, food processing and retail and services sectors. It helps businesses to improve production processes and performance while reducing costs.

The company was recently awarded a fifty percent subsidised grant of £16k from East Staffordshire Council’s Business Development Fund towards marketing and research and development to help with business growth. It now employs 12 staff.

Matt added: “These most recent appointments were made through our partnerships with Coventry University and 3As, both of which are giving us a continuous flow of new and exciting young business people we can help to mould into well rounded professionals.

“We’re looking forward to working more closely with these organisations to make sure that the talent we bring in helps us achieve our business objectives while giving those with ambition the opportunity to progress their career"
