A Burton-based software solutions provider has opened a new engineering facility to create an environment which better supports its clients and enhances future product development.
With the launch of the new facility, Visdata is responding to the changing nature of manufacturing and the arrival of newer, more advanced equipment to help businesses increase productivity, reduce costs and improve on quality and customer service.
The facility will help Visdata to create new software packages to help businesses work far more efficiently with some of the newer manufacturing equipment being integrated into its clients businesses.
Matt Benfield, managing director at Visdata, said: We believe that we are among the very first software companies to take this radical step in order to support users of our systems now and well into the future.
The new facility will help us to create more advanced products and solutions by being better aware of the link between our software products and manufacturing equipment. By being closer to such equipment and by giving our team time to work with it, we are making sure were much closer to the manufacturing process as a whole, something that can only be a good thing for the company and our customers.
The company has installed a wide range of equipment into its offices, such as laser cutters, lathes, milling machines, various 3D printers, vinyl cutters and CNC engraving machinery. It has also installed a number of design and 3D modelling software packages.
The new engineering facility is a way of helping our employees to better understand how our software packages can support clients and their changing needs. But it also will give us the perfect environment to create, test and develop new software and assist us in finding new ways to integrate hew hardware and software to meet future client needs, added Matt.
The facility will also be open to other third parties with an interest in the future of British manufacturing and emerging technologies, such as the Chambers of Commerce, Universities, Colleges, Government and other trade bodies.
